What is included in a Versailles Full-Day Tour?

All of our Versailles Full-Day Tours from Paris include round-trip transportation from Paris, hotel pick-up (within our service area), timed-entry tickets to the Palace of Versailles, an English-speaking licensed guide, and free time to explore the estate. Depending on the tour you choose, your guided visit may also include the Gardens, the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate.

What is the difference between your Full-Day tour options?

We offer four different Full-Day experiences to match different budgets and travel styles.

• Large Group Tour – Up to 27 guests. An excellent value with a guided Palace visit followed by free time.
• Standard Small Group Tour – Up to 16 guests. A more personal experience with a smaller group and an experienced guide.
• Semi-Private Tour – Up to 11 guests. A relaxed pace with a longer guided visit of the Palace and Gardens.
• Palace & Trianon Guided Tour – Up to 20 guests. Our most complete experience, with your guide accompanying you throughout both the Palace and the Trianon Estate.

How long is the tour?

Our Full-Day Tours generally last 8 to 10 hours, including transportation between Paris and Versailles. Traffic conditions may slightly affect the total duration.

Does the tour include hotel pick-up?

Yes. All of our Full-Day Tours include hotel pick-up from selected districts of Paris. If your accommodation is outside our hotel pick-up area, we will offer one of our convenient meeting points, easily accessible by taxi or public transportation.

Are Palace of Versailles tickets included?

Yes. All entrance tickets are included in the tour price.

Your ticket includes timed-entry admission to the Palace of Versailles and access to the entire Versailles Estate. Depending on the day of your visit, it also includes the Royal Gardens, the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette’s Estate, the Musical Gardens or the Musical Fountain Show.

Is the tour fully guided?

We offer several Versailles Full-Day Tour options designed for different travel preferences.

Our Palace & Trianon Guided Tour is the only tour that is fully guided throughout the entire day. Your licensed guide accompanies you inside the Palace, the Royal Gardens, the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate, providing detailed historical explanations throughout the visit.

Our other Full-Day Tours follow a different format. During the morning, your guide leads an in-depth visit of the Palace of Versailles, and depending on the selected option, the Royal Gardens are also guided. After this guided portion, you will enjoy several hours of free time to discover the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, and Marie-Antoinette’s Hamlet independently at your own pace.

The return departure from Versailles is usually around 5:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to explore the rest of the estate without feeling rushed.

Many visitors choose the Full-Day Tour because the price difference compared with our Half-Day Tour is relatively small. The additional cost mainly reflects the Versailles Passport ticket, which grants access to the entire estate, including the Trianon Palaces and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate, making it one of the best-value upgrades for visitors who want to experience everything Versailles has to offer.

How much free time will I have?

After the guided visit, you will have several hours of free time to enjoy the Versailles Estate independently.

You may visit:

• The Grand Trianon
• The Petit Trianon
• Marie-Antoinette’s Estate and Queen’s Hamlet
• The Royal Gardens
• Temporary exhibitions (when available)
• Cafés and restaurants throughout the estate

Will I visit the Hall of Mirrors?

Yes.

Every Full-Day Tour includes the famous Hall of Mirrors, one of the highlights of the Palace of Versailles, together with the King’s State Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments, the Royal Chapel (when accessible), and many other magnificent rooms.

Can I visit the Grand Trianon and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate?

Yes.

All of our Full-Day Tours include access to these areas with the Versailles Passport.

Depending on the option you choose, these areas are either explored independently during your free time or visited with your guide as part of the Palace & Trianon Guided Tour.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes.

Families are welcome on all our tours. Children generally enjoy discovering the royal palace, the magnificent gardens, the fountains, and the charming Queen’s Hamlet.

Please note that the estate is very large, and visitors should be prepared for a full day of walking.

Is lunch included?

No.

Lunch is not included, allowing you to choose one of the cafés or restaurants located within the Versailles Estate or enjoy a picnic where permitted.

Is there a lot of walking?

Yes.

Versailles covers more than 800 hectares (2,000 acres) and is one of the largest royal estates in Europe.

Visitors should expect to walk several kilometres throughout the day. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.

Are the Gardens always open?

Yes.

The Gardens of Versailles are open every day throughout the year.

From April 1 to November 1, the gardens host the famous seasonal shows included with the Versailles Passport:

• Musical Gardens take place Tuesday to Friday from April 1 to October 30. During these days, classical music is played throughout the gardens, and many of the beautiful groves that are normally closed are exceptionally open to visitors.
• Musical Fountain Shows take place every Saturday and Sunday from early April to November 1, as well as on several French public holidays. During these special days, hundreds of fountains come to life to the sound of Baroque music, recreating the spectacular entertainment once enjoyed by King Louis XIV and his court.

During the winter season (November to March), the gardens remain open daily, although the Musical Gardens and Musical Fountain Shows are not operating.

Because all of our Full-Day Tours include the Versailles Passport, you will automatically enjoy these seasonal events whenever they are taking place on the day of your visit.

A Half-Day Tour focuses mainly on the Palace of Versailles and, depending on the option selected, may include a guided visit of the Gardens.
