Are Palace of Versailles tickets included?
Yes.
Your tour includes timed-entry tickets to the Palace of Versailles, allowing you to enter at your reserved time without waiting in the ticket purchase line.
Depending on the selected tour and the operating schedule, access to the Royal Gardens is also included.
Is the tour fully guided?
Yes.
Every Half-Day Tour includes a guided visit of the Palace of Versailles, including the King’s Apartments, Queen’s Apartments, the famous Hall of Mirrors, and other major highlights.
Some tour options also include a guided walk through the Royal Gardens.
Unlike our Full-Day Tours, the Half-Day Tours do not include the Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, or Marie-Antoinette’s Estate, allowing you to return to Paris earlier.
Will I have free time?
Yes.
After the guided visit, most itineraries include a short period of free time to enjoy the Palace courtyard, the Gardens, take photographs, visit the gift shops, or relax before returning to Paris.
If you would like several hours to explore the Trianon Estate independently, we recommend choosing one of our Versailles Full-Day Tours.
Will I visit the Hall of Mirrors?
Absolutely.
The Hall of Mirrors is one of the main highlights included in every guided visit, together with the King’s State Apartments, Queen’s Apartments, and other royal rooms.
Are the Gardens included?
Yes.
Depending on your selected tour and the day of your visit, your guide may also lead you through the famous French Gardens designed by André Le Nôtre.
When the Musical Gardens or Musical Fountain Shows are operating, access is included whenever your ticket covers these events.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes.
The Half-Day Tour is particularly suitable for families with children because it is shorter than the Full-Day Tour while still allowing visitors to discover the most important parts of Versailles.
Is there a lot of walking?
Yes.
Visitors should expect several kilometres of walking throughout the Palace and Gardens.
Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
Why choose a Half-Day Tour instead of a Full-Day Tour?
The Half-Day Tour is perfect for visitors who:
- Have limited time in Paris.
- Want to see the highlights of Versailles.
- Prefer spending the afternoon exploring Paris.
- Do not plan to visit the Grand Trianon and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate.
If you want to experience the entire Royal Estate, including the Trianon Palaces and the Queen’s Hamlet, we recommend one of our Versailles Full-Day Tours.
How many people are in each group?
We offer several group sizes:
- Semi-Private Tour: maximum 11 guests
- Standard Small Group Tour: maximum 15 & 20 guests
- Large Group Tour: maximum 27 guests
Smaller groups provide a more personal experience and easier interaction with your guide.
Is this tour recommended for first-time visitors?
Yes.
For many travellers, the Half-Day Tour is the ideal introduction to Versailles. It includes all the Palace’s major highlights, comfortable transportation from Paris, reserved timed-entry tickets, and expert commentary without taking up your entire day.
