Our door-to-door service allows you to avoid taking the train to Caen or Bayeux and arranging several separate transfers. Although our excursion may initially appear more expensive, the difference becomes much smaller once you include train tickets, taxi journeys to and from the stations, and the time required to coordinate everything independently. After a relaxing journey through the French countryside, you will arrive in Bayeux and enjoy approximately two hours of free time to explore this charming historic town and have lunch at your leisure. You may stroll through the medieval streets, visit Bayeux Cathedral or simply relax in a local restaurant—the time is entirely yours.
At 12:30 PM, you will meet your professional local Normandy guide. You will then change vehicles and continue the afternoon in the guide’s vehicle, which is ideally suited to the roads around the D-Day sites and allows for a more flexible and in-depth visit.
Many Normandy excursions rely on the same driver-guide for the entire day, including the long return journey from Paris and the guided visits between the historic sites. Paris Webservices organizes the experience differently. Your Paris driver is responsible for the long-distance transfers, while your specialist local guide handles the guided tour and the shorter journeys between the Normandy sites.
By separating these responsibilities, we limit long periods of continuous driving and allow each professional to concentrate fully on their role. Your Paris driver can focus on providing a safe and comfortable transfer, while your local guide remains fresh, attentive and fully available to share the history of the Normandy landings. The itinerary, timings and order of visits are approximate and may change due to traffic, weather, site access restrictions or other unforeseen circumstances.
Please be ready at the entrance of your hotel, private residence or designated meeting point at least five minutes before your confirmed pickup time. As this is a shared tour, the driver cannot wait for late arrivals. Missing your scheduled pickup will be considered a no-show, and no refund will be issued.
Infant seats are available upon request and must be requested when booking.
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended, as the tour includes walking and standing on uneven ground at several historical sites.
