A Day with the Masters: Musée d’Orsay and Giverny Tour
Morning: Dive into the World of Impressionism at the Musée d’Orsay
Start your day of artistic exploration with a visit to the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Meet directly at the museum to begin this artistic experience. This magnificent museum houses a dazzling collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works, including masterpieces by Van Gogh, Degas, and, of course, Monet.
Afternoon: The Inspiring Beauty of Giverny
At around 1 PM, we will pick you up from the Musée d’Orsay for Giverny in a minivan with a maximum of 8 seats. Discover Claude Monet’s beautiful house and garden in the picturesque French town of Giverny. This 3-hour small group tour is a visual feast, as the colors in the gardens change with the seasons. Whether in full bloom or dressed in autumn hues, Giverny is always a sight to behold.
Spend a serene afternoon ambling through the gardens that inspired Claude Monet’s famous “Water Lilies.” Visit the master of Impressionism’s house and gardens and stroll through the charming streets of this quaint town. Monet lived here for forty-three years, nurturing his passion for gardening and colors. His house, adorned with striking rooms such as the vibrant yellow dining room and the blue Rouen ceramic-tiled kitchen, is a must-see. The Japanese-inspired bridge overlooking his famous lily pond adds to the ethereal ambiance.
After your visit, you may wish to pay your respects at Claude Monet’s grave or explore the Musée des Impressionnistes, where paintings reflect his enduring influence on art (ticket not included).
At around 5 PM, the driver-guide will return you to your hotel in Paris.
