Explore the Palace of Versailles on a professionally organised small-group tour from Paris. Depending on the option selected, your experience may include hotel pickup, round-trip transportation by minivan, reserved Palace admission and a guided visit with a licensed professional guide.

Our Versailles tours are designed for travellers who want a more comfortable and organised alternative to travelling independently or joining a large coach excursion. Transportation from Paris is operated in small-capacity minivans, making hotel pickups, boarding and the journey to Versailles easier.

During your guided visit, discover the Palace’s most important rooms, including the King’s State Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors. Selected tours also include a guided introduction to the gardens, additional independent time or access to the Trianon Estate.

WHY CHOOSE A VERSAILLES SMALL GROUP TOUR FROM PARIS?

Versailles is one of the most visited historic sites in France. Timed admission, compulsory security checks, transportation from Paris and the size of the Estate can make an independent visit more complicated than expected.

A professionally organised tour brings the principal parts of the day together in one reservation. Depending on the selected option, your tour may include:

• Hotel pickup in selected Paris districts

• Round-trip transportation from Paris by comfortable minivan

• Reserved timed admission to the Palace of Versailles

• A guided Palace visit with a licensed professional guide

• Access to the Versailles Gardens according to the date and selected ticket

• A choice of semi-private, small-group and standard-group formats

• Half-day and full-day itineraries

Paris Webservices has been organising tours and transportation to Versailles for more than 20 years. Our tours are operated directly by our local Paris team, allowing travellers to communicate with the company responsible for their transportation and tour arrangements.

TRANSPORTATION FROM PARIS BY MINIVAN – NO LARGE COACHES

Transportation from Paris to Versailles is organised in comfortable, air-conditioned minivans. Paris Webservices does not use large tourist coaches for its hotel-pickup and Paris meeting-point transfers.

Each minivan normally carries a maximum of seven or eight passengers. This provides several practical advantages:

• Easier boarding at hotels and Paris meeting points

• More comfortable transportation in a smaller-capacity vehicle

• Better access to streets where large coaches cannot operate

• Fewer passengers and pickup stops in each vehicle

• A more relaxed journey between Paris and Versailles

VEHICLE CAPACITY AND GUIDED GROUP SIZE

The number of passengers travelling in your minivan is not always the same as the number of participants joining the guided visit at Versailles.

Several minivans may travel to Versailles separately before guests join the guide for the Palace visit. Depending on the tour selected, the guided group may include:

• A private group of up to 8 guests

• A semi-private group of up to approximately 11 guests

• A small group of up to approximately 15 guests

• A standard group of up to approximately 20 guests

• A classic group of up to approximately 27 guests

The maximum guided group size is clearly indicated on each individual tour page. Please check this information before booking if the number of participants is an important part of your decision.

HOTEL PICKUP AND ROUND-TRIP TRANSPORTATION FROM PARIS

Hotel pickup is available from hotels, Airbnb accommodation and private addresses located in selected areas of Paris. Our regular pickup service covers the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 15th and 16th arrondissements, as well as selected hotels in parts of the 2nd, 9th, 14th and 17th arrondissements. For groups of more than five participants, pickup may sometimes be available from additional Paris districts. Please provide your complete accommodation address when booking so that our team can confirm whether the vehicle can stop nearby. Some hotels and apartments are located on narrow streets, pedestrian roads, bus lanes or areas where tourist vehicles are not permitted to stop. In these situations, we will provide a convenient pickup point within walking distance of your accommodation. The exact pickup time depends on the location of all passengers and is generally confirmed by email or text message on the day before the tour. Guests must wait at the confirmed building entrance or meeting point at least five minutes before the scheduled time. The journey between Paris and Versailles normally takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour, depending on traffic conditions.

VISIT THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES, THE HALL OF MIRRORS AND THE ROYAL GARDENS

During the guided Palace visit, a licensed professional guide will introduce you to the history of Versailles, the French monarchy and daily life at the royal court. The itinerary normally includes the King’s State Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors and other ceremonial rooms open to visitors on the date of your tour. Access to individual rooms may occasionally change because of restoration work, security requirements, exceptional closures or official events. After the Palace visit, selected tours include a guided introduction to the French formal gardens created by André Le Nôtre, followed by independent time to explore the fountains, sculptures, groves and main perspectives of the Estate. Garden admission depends on the selected tour and date. During the main season, Musical Gardens or Musical Fountains programmes may operate according to the official Palace of Versailles calendar, but the fountains do not operate continuously throughout the day.

PARIS MEETING POINT AND INDEPENDENT ARRIVAL OPTIONS

If your accommodation is outside our regular hotel-pickup area, you can join the tour at a selected meeting point in Paris. Our principal meeting points include 83 Avenue Bosquet, 75007 Paris, near the Eiffel Tower, and 44 Avenue George V, 75008 Paris, near the Champs-Élysées. The exact meeting point and departure time are confirmed with your reservation. Selected tours also allow participants to travel independently to Versailles and meet the guide directly near the Palace. Always check whether your chosen option includes round-trip transportation from Paris, a Paris meeting-point departure or no transportation.

HALF-DAY VERSAILLES TOURS

Our half-day Versailles tours normally last approximately five to six hours, including transportation from Paris. Depending on the selected programme, the guided Palace visit lasts approximately one hour and thirty minutes to two hours, followed by an introduction to the gardens and independent time. Half-day tours focus on the Palace, the Hall of Mirrors and the main areas of the gardens. They do not normally provide enough time to visit the Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon and Queen’s Hamlet. A half-day tour is recommended for first-time visitors who want to discover the essential highlights of Versailles without spending the entire day outside Paris.

FULL-DAY VERSAILLES TOURS

Our full-day Versailles tours normally last approximately eight to ten hours, including transportation from Paris. After the guided Palace visit, guests receive additional independent time for lunch and exploration of the Estate. Depending on the selected ticket and programme, this may include the gardens, Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon and Queen’s Hamlet. The Trianon Estate is located at a considerable distance from the main Palace, so comfortable walking shoes and a good level of physical fitness are recommended. Please check the individual tour description carefully because guided time and independent time vary according to the selected full-day option.

RESERVED PALACE ADMISSION AND SECURITY CHECKS

Our guided tours include reserved timed admission to the Palace of Versailles when stated in the selected product description. Reserved admission provides access at a scheduled time, but it does not allow visitors to bypass compulsory security screening. Waiting times may still occur during busy periods, weekends, public holidays or exceptional security procedures. Guests must remain with the group and follow the guide’s instructions because late arrival may result in the reserved admission time being missed.

WALKING, MOBILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY

A visit to Versailles requires several hours of walking and standing on stone courtyards, parquet floors, cobblestones, gravel paths and uneven garden surfaces. The guide must maintain the scheduled itinerary and cannot provide continuous individual assistance. Our vehicles and standard guided tours are not wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs cannot normally be transported because luggage space inside the minivans is limited. The experience may not be suitable for travellers with significant mobility difficulties or anyone unable to remain standing and follow the group for an extended period. If you have concerns about mobility, please contact us before booking so that we can explain the practical requirements of the selected tour.

WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK A VERSAILLES TOUR?

SOLO TRAVELLERS

Solo travellers are welcome to join our Versailles tours. However, an individual hotel pickup may not always be possible because each minivan route must remain limited to a small number of stops. When a dedicated hotel stop cannot be added, solo travellers may be asked to join the vehicle at a nearby hotel or one of our selected Paris meeting points. This arrangement prevents long pickup routes and helps ensure that all participants arrive at Versailles before the reserved Palace admission time.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. During warmer months, we recommend bringing water, sun protection and a hat. In case of rain, a small folding umbrella is more practical than a large umbrella. Large bags, suitcases and luggage are not accepted on the tour because storage space inside the minivans is limited and the Palace applies strict security regulations. Please bring only a small handbag or compact backpack.

FOOD AND DRINKS INSIDE THE VEHICLE

To keep our minivans clean, comfortable and pleasant for every passenger, food and drinks must not be consumed inside the vehicle. Only still water in a securely closed bottle is permitted. Meals, snacks and other drinks can be purchased during the available independent time according to the selected itinerary.

BOOK YOUR VERSAILLES TOUR FROM PARIS

Choose the tour that best matches your preferred duration, group size, transportation arrangement and budget. Before booking, check whether your selected option includes hotel pickup, a Paris meeting point, independent arrival at Versailles, garden admission or access to the Trianon Estate. Booking directly with Paris Webservices allows you to communicate with the local company responsible for operating your transportation and organising your Versailles experience.

BOOKING A VERSAILLES TOUR MORE THAN FOUR MONTHS IN ADVANCE

The Palace of Versailles does not allow us to open guided tour dates for online sale more than four months in advance. This official booking restriction prevents travellers from purchasing a Versailles tour before Palace admission, professional guide and transportation availability can be verified. If your preferred date is not yet available for online booking, you can submit a free Priority Booking Request for your future Versailles tour from Paris. No payment or credit card is required at this stage. When official reservations open, Paris Webservices will check the availability of Palace tickets, professional guides, vehicles and the selected tour before contacting you with the final details and a secure payment link. A Priority Booking Request is not a confirmed reservation and does not guarantee availability. Places on our Versailles semi-private and small-group tours are limited, so we recommend submitting your request as early as possible. REQUEST A FUTURE DATE
