THE WAYWARD DAUGHTER

Since the creation of the first version of La Fille mal gardée in 1789, several choreographs have given their interpretation of the story, in particular Frederick Ashton in 1960. The lasting success of his version – light, dynamic, vibrant and spectacular, with a classic, virtuoso danse style – is not only due to the perfect fluidity of the choreography, but also to the irresistibly charming characters created by Ashton, who are characterised by humour and subtlety.
