DESCRIPTION :

John Cranko brings together almost 70 dancers in his ballet Oneguin. Inspired by the work of Pouchkine, the classic narrative choreography presents an unusual intensity and richness. The score mixes piano pieces with elements from operas by Tchaïkovsky. Jürgen Rose’s set and sophisticated costumes recreate the splendour of 19th century aristocratic Russia, creating a ballet that is both melancholic and deeply theatrical.
