DESCRIPTION :
Three unique visions of dance and theatre are brought together for this programme. Choreographer in residence at the Stuttgart Ballet, then at the Nederlands Dans Theater, German choreographer Marco Goecke defines his work as a waking dream, his choreographic language being characterised by its avant-gardism and inventiveness. The Swedish choreographer Pontus Lidberg, who is also a cinema director, is known particularly for his film The Rain, an aquatic work in which dance aims to be delicate, light and sensitive. The two choreographers’ creations are followed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Faun duet, a melancholy embrace in homage to Vaslav Nijinski, which concludes this truly poetic and virtuoso programme.
