The story says: Gabrielle d’Estrées, Duchess of Beaufort and Verneuil, mistress of Henri IV from 1591 to 1599 lived in rue Git le Cœur. Henri IV, deeply in love with his mistress, said during one of his visits when he arrived on the street: “here lies my heart”.
